You can study for a Bachelor's degree, Master's degree, or a college diploma in a large variety of programs including, but not limited to, Tourism, Engineering, Marketing, Trade, Hospitality, Administration, and Business.
Agents and various associates recruit potential students and/or students inquire to schools directly. Students currently at our schools may also apply to this program during their studies.
Students or the agent representatives submit applications to both GEOS Languages PLUS and the university/ college of their choice. The length of time students study at one of our schools depends on their level upon entrance. (Each level takes on average 12 weeks to complete.) Students must register for a minimum of 3 months in an Intensive Course, a Super-Intensive Course or an Exam Preparation Course (IELTS, TOEFL,Cambridge).
GEOS Languages PLUS and the partner post-secondary institution supports applications for student visas by providing a conditional letter of acceptance each.

- Recommended obtaining an International Driving Permit prior to arriving in Canada. If your driver's licence is NOT in English or French, we consider an International Driving Permit essential. Citizens from countries that have reciprocal licensing agreements with the Canadian provinces can exchange their home driver's license for a Canadian driver's license. If this does not apply to you, you may be required to pass the complete driver's test. (not obligatory)

Start Dates differ depending on the availability of working holiday program and the length of English study you require prior to being eligible to your working holiday program.

An official letter of acceptance will support and facilitate the visa application process (similar to the conditional letter of acceptance from a university/college)

Why do I need to pay a university placement fee?
The $300 university placement fee is for the services provided by the SC GEOS Pathways team including (but not limited to): selection of the institution, education plan, help with application and documents, familiarization with Canadian/US education system and transition to the institution. We will waive this fee if you register for 24+ weeks.

What is the difference between university and college?
Generally, Canadian and American colleges have part-time and full-time diploma (2 or 3 years), certificate programs (1 year or less) and Bachelor degrees in applied areas of study.
Colleges are more directly career-oriented offering hands on skills, which students can apply immediately upon graduation.
Colleges also have pre-trades and apprenticeship training programs, which help students enter the field and get hands on experience. Colleges are known to have programs in agriculture, health science, art or military.
Universities on the other hand commonly offer undergraduate (bachelor's) degrees and (Master's and doctoral) programs.
Undergraduate degrees usually take 3-4 years of full-time studies to complete. An "honours degree" (the fourth year) is usually required if you want to go to a graduate program (Master's degree). At many universities students are allowed to combine subject areas (e.g., a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry and Biology) into a "double major."
Many universities have professional programs, such as medicine, dentistry and law. Often, you can begin these programs after 2 or 3 years of undergraduate study.
With language schools all across North America, from East Coast to West Coast, schools in the UK, motherland of English language, and a resort-school in Malta, we provide our students with a range of different travel and cultural experiences while they are learning English language.
The cities in which our schools are located are top travel destinations. Each city has different character and something unique to offer besides all of them create an opportunity to improve and practice English. East Coast of North America, for example, is notably different from the West Coast. Knowing that and trying to help you make the most of your language trip, we also offer Multi-destination packages. It means you can start you course in one city and continue in another.

How to enter University or College through SC GEOS Pathways program:
With so many partners, there are many different kinds of relationships! While many Colleges and Universities have no testing for SC GEOS students, there are 3 ways to enter into our partner institutions.
- Direct Entry: Apply to the Pathways Program and achieve the language level/grade required to directly enter into one of 100+ universities/colleges without TOEFL, IELTS or another language proficiency exam. SC GEOS Pathways partners in North America recognize official SC GEOS Language Certificate as proof of the required level of English proficiency.
- Institutional Assessment: Complete the necessary SC GEOS level (level 5 or 6) and pass the standardized English Assessment at your chosen college or university. No TOEFL or IELTS required.
- TOEFL/IELTS Preparation Program: SC GEOS Language Schools will prepare you for the IELTS or TOEFL examination that will open the doors to an English speaking university or college! Our Spanish Immersion Program operates in several different countries including Spain, Cuba, Mexico, Costa Rica and Ecuador. Whether learning the basics, or brushing up on your existing Spanish skills, there are several options to choose from, suitable for all age groups and all skill levels.
As one of the most widely spoken languages in the world and omnipresent on nearly every continent, our Spanish courses are extremely popular. While each location offers a varying experience for every student, these programs combine exciting classroom instruction with cultural activity.
Our Programs provide students with the opportunity to apply the skills they learn within the classroom directly outside as they participate in culturally relevant activities. Italian
Italian is one of the most beautifully spoken and oldest languages in the world. Because of Italy’s celebrated history, our Italian programs receive a lot of attention from international students interested in learning one of the most iconic languages known to mankind.
Our Italian language schools are located in Rome, Florence and the beautiful region of Calabria. We offer programs suitable for all skill levels and varying durations, based on the interests and needs of each student. German

GEOS has fantastic homestay in all our cities which give our students the chance to live in a North American family. Practice your English at home after school with your housemates and homestay family and have the security of a family away from home. All homestays offer beds, desks, access to a bathroom and the chance to do laundry. Full board (three daily meals) or half-board (two daily meals) are both available.
GEOS also has residence options in most of our destinations - and we are always looking for more! Most residences have single or double rooms, shared bathrooms and laundry facilities. Groups can be placed in closed classes or in international classes with students from all over the world. Since GEOS works hard to group students based on nationality as well as age we factor that in when making our schedules. We won't put a 10 year old in an adult class!
Groups usually choose either a standard program which is 15 hours per week or a 22.5 hour per week intensive program. We can schedule classes either in the morning or in the afternoon - to suit the activities for your group!!

GEOS is pleased to be able to create programs to suit any size of group of students. Our worldwide helpdesks are close to wherever you are and in your time zone to consult with you on what we have to offer. We can do ages as young as 10 in Canada and 14 in the USA (if they are in groups with an average age of 16).
We can provide 4 or 6 daily lessons (3 or 4.5 hours) with open international or closed classes. We also have residence options as well as homestay in most locations - but book residence early!
Packages include insurance, booking fees, placement fees, books and activities, as well! We can provide you with our standard calendars for 2,3, or 4 weeks or we can customize a calendar for you -- contact us if you have a specific option you'd like to add - whether it's a walk on the beach or a trip to Las Vegas!!

Momentum Basic
Students arriving in Canada with a working holiday permit often need a little help to get the most out of their experience. GEOS can help. With any 12 week registration, GEOS is happy to offer resume writing, cover letter writing and job interview practice. Our Momentum basic program offers these services for no charge. We will also tell you if your English level is high enough to start looking for work. Most students find restaurant or retail work in their cities.
