Standard English Plus Program
Standard English Plus is being developed as we see more of a need for an 18 hour/week program. It will combine our already approved Standard English program (15 hours/week) with three hours/week of workshops.
- Standard English Plus Beginner will be offered to students who place into our Level 1 or 2 classes.
- Standard English Plus Intermediate will be offered to students who place into our Level 3 or 4 classes.
- Standard English Plus Advanced will be offered to students who place into our Level 5 or 6 classes.
The workshops will be divided into two, 1.5 hour/week classes; one will focus on effective, meaningful conversation, while the other will focus on US culture. Attendance will be taken each class, and students will be assessed at the end of each four-week session.

Culture Workshop I-Syllabus
Workshop Description
This workshop is for beginner level students in Standard English Levels 1 and 2 who want to improve their knowledge of American culture. Students will learn about people, places and events through reading passages and conversation topics.
Workshop Objectives
Upon successful completion of the workshop, students will be able to:
- Speak about various topics related to US culture.
- Understand how multiple aspects of American life are influenced by culture.
- Increase cross-cultural understanding.
Culture Workshop II-Syllabus
Workshop Description
