SC Geos Ottawa School Update
The SC GEOS School in Ottawa wish you well and want to tell you about the awesome events happening in this diverse capital city, as well as saying goodbye to our beloved Brazil group.
The SC GEOS School from Ottawa says hello again from the Capital of Canada! The city shines in winter and especially in February, which is always a busy month for us. Ottawa is packed full of winter activities. Try skating along the famous Rideau Canal Skateway, which is the only UNESCO World Heritage Site where you can flow through 7.8 kilometers into the heart of Ottawa. You may also want to try Canada’s one of a kind beavertail pastry while you are there too!
If skating is not your cup of tea then you can take advantage of Ottawa’s famous annual Winterlude festival. Today is the first day kickstarting the festival. There are plenty of exciting events to celebrate Canada’s 150th year such as ice sculptures, a giant snow playground and many more. The festival runs from February 3rd-20th.
Today sadly we are saying goodbye to our amazing group from the south of Brazil with a party and graduation this afternoon. This will be our 11th year of welcoming groups from the Porto Allegre area and this year may have been the best ever! On Sunday the group flies to Toronto for a day tour of the city and then hit Niagara Falls. Finally they fly back to Brazil Sunday night. Thank you so much guys! It has truly been a blast!
