‘The SEXES working together towards a brighter future’ SC GEOS LP Supports Global Women in International Education
The men and women, company-wide, of SC GEOS Languages Plus are proudly joining as members of GLOW ED. GLOW ED’s mission is to create an organization that engages and empowers women at all levels of global education by providing a platform for dialogue, networking and mentorship. GLOW Ed is committed to fostering the advancement of women in the field, creating more business opportunities for women and supporting disadvantaged women in countries around the world.
So, it is the 21st century and we are still on the topic of gender equality in the workplace…well, not at SC GEOS Languages Plus where we strive to empower both men and women based on their skills and work ethics and not their gender.
We are also proud to announce that our very own Director of Operations and Business Development, Alexia Galanopoulos, is now a board member for GLOW ED.

Here is what some of our people across the globe wanted to share:
President & CO-Founder of Sprachcaffe GEOS Languages Plus, Alberto Sarno, speaks about how he is proud to be part of the gender equality movement in education, in his own company and at home:
“As a father, a son, a brother, a partner and a colleague of strong women, it goes without saying that I am a proud supporter in several global initiatives fostering the advancement of women in all aspects of the work place and in my personal life. There is a lot of denial about sexism and an ugly connotation on the word feminism that is still present in the world, we need to work together to fix this.”
TORONTO HEAD OFFICE – NORTH AMERICA: ‘Gender equality? Are we still discussing it? We are a proud employer of both males and females based on work performance, attitude, humor, positivity, personality and individual skill. Nothing beats that. True supporters of equality without even considering the race, sex, religion, physical looks, political or favorite football club of the individual…”. We hire family-worthy employees. Heck! We spend more time with each other than with our actual families, so we make our time in our schools WORTH WHILE. Students see it, an appreciate it.’
SPAIN: Santi de la Flor – Marketing Manager Spain | Online Marketing Coordinator Latin America: “As an education company which host students all around the world, we truly believe in the power of equal education for creating a better global community. We encourage this equality not only with words, but through actions we take with our students and co-workers, in our classes and in our offices. We achieve an open-minded environment no matter the religion, sexual orientation, gender identity, age or orethnicity.”
OTTAWA: Niall Campbell – School Director: “I’ve always found a strong core of female staff members in any ESL school I have visited, and that is certainly reflected in SC GEOS schools. As we seek to be better global citizens, we should always be mindful of the benefits and strengths that come from a balanced mix of genders and nationalities”.
NEW YORK CITY: Evgeniya Stoyanova – School Director: “In our school in New York we offer equal opportunities to all our team members and students. This is probably a very specific topic to New York - a mix of nationalities, diverse backgrounds, breathtaking life stories, and outstanding people. Gender is no longer a key factor in determining who you are, what you are worth, what paths to choose, and what horizons to meet”.
BEIJING: Liuda – School Director: “Effective gender equality is a goal in our workplace.“
MEXICO: Israel Garcia – Marketing Manager - Mexico: “Equality in our workplace enhances productivity while allowing our company to retain and actually attract talent!”
BOSTON: Ekaterina Antonova – School Director: “Education seems to have a lot of women in it, so I would say it feels like a safe space to work and develop one’s career. Being a female representative of SC GEOS Languages Plus, I can say that the place feels not only safe, but also encouraging and supporting of women, and having strong female leaders in managing positions in the company contributes to that.”
FRANKFURT HEAD QUARTERS: Sven Palm – Area Manager Germany | Austria | Latin America: “For me it doesn’t matter if it’s a man or woman! Muslim, Christian or Atheist! African, Asian of European! Black or white! WE are all children of ONE world!”
COSTA MESA– Ed Jackson – School Director: “Ability isn’t defined by gender nor relevant to our business success. Working along with others who have the ability to do their work well in their position with confidence and personality is important and recognized by those whom we encounter and service in our industry daily.”
CALGARY– Annalie Ibarra – School Director: ““Talking about feminism is talking about equality. I'm proud to lead a school where equal opportunities and chances are given to everyone regardless of gender, sexual orientation or religion. I believe in inclusiveness and mutual grow on a daily basis”
PERU | ECUADOR– Maribel Davila –Helpdesk: “Talent has no gender, neither does effort ... the inclusive workplace that SC GEOS provides us all makes us stronger! Uniting efforts makes us grow!”
COLOMBIA: Laura Sierra – Online Marketing: “MALE or FEMALE doesn’t translate into “inferior or superior”. It’s about the differences between HUMAN individuals, regardless of sex, that nicely compliment one another and aim towards the same goals.”
OLGA MARACHEVA – University Pathways Director - Travels across North America helping guide international students to make life changing decisions for their future.
