It’s that time of the year for family, friends and festivities.
The HOLIDAY season is upon us. Although it may be a little difficult for some international students to be away from their families during the season our Sprachcaffe GEOS Languages Plus schools across North America offer a wide variety of social and leisure festivities that one can take part in with new friends from all over the world. Here we showcase our TOP 10 PICKS!
Ottawa
You can not be in Ottawa during the Holiday Season and miss out on trying a traditional delicious BeaverTail and Hot Chocolate while you skate on the rideau canal!

New York City
Rockefeller Center Grandiose Tree and Ice Skating has been visitted from far and wide for 85 years now.
Costa Mesa
Check out Snoopy House Holiday Display in front of Costa Mesa City Hall, a tradition since 1966 with an estimated 80,000 visitors annually. From December 14 – 23rd. Nightly live music and free train rides for children.

Boston
Boston tradition, reknowned, FIRST NIGHT, a New Year’s Eve celebration of artisitc performaces, the wonders of the seasons and the beginning of a new year. 8pm to 12am, Free and with an extravagant Countdown with Midnight Fireworks on the Harbor.
Torrance
Hermosa Beach puts on an awesome New Year’s Eve party at the Pier with fireworks and live music, this is an event that everyone in the area would not want to miss.
Calgary
In Calgary one can not miss the Festival of Light, the largest FREE drive-by Christmas Lights showcase, comprised of over 105,000 lights along 14 st NW.
Montreal
Each year Igloofest brings 1000’s of electronic music fans to dance under the stars at Montreal’s Old Port, icy décor and steel structures, featuring the best and local international dj’s. One of the hottest events in the city. Jan. 18 – Feb 3rd, 2018.
Victoria
Magic of Christmas at Butchart Gardens is one of Victoria’s famous sites. Enjoy classic tradition with the 12 Days of Christmas displays throughout the gardens, enjoy outdoor ice skating and treat yourself to festive dining or listnen to the carolers. Dec 1 – Jan. 6, 2017.
Vancouver
Take part in an abundance of concerts, winter markets and Christmas light shows around the city. Most notably Canyon Lights, Capilano Suspension Bridge Park, which is decorated with thousands of sparkling lights!
