Happy St. Patrick’s Day from Vancouver and Boston English Schools
St. Patrick’s Day is originally a cultural and religious celebration. It is a day to remember and celebrate the death of Ireland’s St Patrick, the most renowned patron saint who introduced Christianity to the country. The day is a public holiday in Ireland, including Newfoundland and Labrador. St. Patrick or “St. Paddy’s “Day is especially popular in North America as a jolly day to wear green and just enjoy company with friends.
The SC GEOS English schools in Vancouver and Boston wanted to show our international students how we embrace popular festivities with a St. Patrick’s Day themed party. Students and staff proudly wore green and embraced the luck of the Irish by making even themed homemade cards. We always try to give our students the full experience abroad by partaking in popular North American cultural traditions.
