Some of our students had never even seen snow before coming to California! One of the most popular tourist destination for GEOS students these days is Joshua Tree National Park. Students like to go there to camp, hike, and take pictures of the strange desert plants and rock formations. Winter is also a great time to visit the beach in California, especially if you are a surfer. Sunny weather, small crowds, and winter swells make for a surfing paradise.
